MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - HENTON Added 14/2/2023

Manufacturing Engineer required at the Hinkley site.

Job Purpose:  
To produce manufacturing engineering plans and CNC programs to support the manufacture of aerospace components.
 
Identify opportunities to improve processes and provide alternative strategies that enable greater productivity and quality performance.
 
To work with the production team to continually improve manufacturing performance.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Create Programs using Alphacam and Siemens CAD/CAM systems. 
  • Create manufacturing methods suitable to the available machinery and using best practice.
  • Design jigs and fixtures and relevant tooling.
  • Support the manufacturing and operations function trough the NPI phase ensuring product and process conformity.
  • Liaise with Suppliers and Customers. 
  • Provide guidance on technology solutions for the business though the BI/CI function.
  • Support quality team with PFMEA information
  • Working on own initiative.
  • Working with the production team to improve business performance through the application of new cutting technology.

Key Attributes
  1. Time served HND or NVQ level 4/5, or relevant industry experience in programming and product development on 3,4 and 5 axis machines across both turning and milling disciplines.
  2. Experience within the Aerospace or related industries such as power generation.
  3. Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  4. Experience of the Alphacam and Siemens NX programming systems.
  5. Ability to plan activities to timelines.
  6. Able to work under pressure to provide the best engineered solution to meet the business needs.

Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week
33 days holiday per year
